I woke up early this morning to write this blog. That is the best time for me to get my thoughts on paper or Word Doc ☺. Before I started to write, Dr. Laura Mach connected with me by sending a message about our upcoming DeW Retreat, and it turned into a great conversation, albeit through texting. She wanted to know if I had seen her latest YouTube offering. Quickly she sent it to me, and what a great way for me to get the right mindset to reach out to you. The gist of her YouTube video is that being a dental entrepreneur woman can be lonely if you don’t work on building your tribe. I can certainly relate to that as I work here in my home office. Here’s her video if you would like a moment of inspiration:
That is one of the reasons we conceived DeW Life: to connect all women in dentistry. I have found that in the last 2 ½ years we have truly started building a tribe that is all-inclusive.
All are welcome here because, as we know, we are stronger together.
This is why I am so honored to be asked to join the RCC, RDH Community Connections. Their goals align with ours. To identify and connect with each other those people that want more, not only for themselves but for our profession as a whole. Love yourself so you can love others. So often we stay in our silo, and growth is stunted. Reaching out to understand the unique career paths in dentistry and getting those conversations developing is going to make the biggest impact on us as we move forward and grow in our own strengths while appreciating the strengths of all those engaged. We truly need each other if we are going to DeW something special. There is no room for scarcity mentality here. Would you agree?
We truly need each other if we are going to DeW something special.
So how do we get connected, stay connected and build our tribe? I would encourage each of you to set up one call a week with someone you don’t know whom you admire. It could be a half an hour call. Find out what the other person is up to, what they are passionate about and how you might be able to contribute to them. I promise it will be worth your time. And when you feel lonely, stuck or simply confused…pick up the phone, and call a DeW. Woman-to-woman talk is powerful!
Can you believe there are upwards of 1,500,000 women in dentistry? Let’s share, connect and grow together. Let’s just DeW it!
