Finding My Path in Dentistry: The Story Behind Toothpod and What DeW Life Means to Me
My journey into dentistry began earlier than most—at eighteen—when I started questioning something that didn’t quite make sense to me. Despite all the advances in modern healthcare, cavities remain one of the most common and persistent health issues in the world.
Through my early research, I realized something even more surprising: it’s not that people don’t care about oral health—it's that toothbrushing itself hasn’t evolved in over a century. The modern world has changed dramatically, yet our daily oral care rituals remain rigid, inconvenient, and tied to specific places and routines. In so many ways, traditional brushing is outdated.
That realization stayed with me as I moved forward in my education, eventually graduating from the University of Toronto. I kept asking myself: What if oral care could evolve? What if it could meet people where they are—at work, in school, on the go—instead of requiring perfect timing or perfect habits?
Those questions ultimately sparked the idea for Toothpod, the company I founded at 18. Last week, on November 25th, I officially launched Toothpod: an innovative dental smart gum created for the moments when brushing simply isn’t possible. It doesn’t replace brushing—but it bridges the gaps between brushes, enhances the oral care experience, and gives people a modern, science-driven option they can use anywhere.
Bringing Toothpod to life has been one of the most defining experiences of my life. Years of research, development, testing, and refining have gone into this launch, and I'm incredibly proud to finally share it with the world.
Ventures and Opportunities Ahead
Now that Toothpod has launched, I’m focused on expanding thoughtfully and strategically. That includes:
● building out the product line,
● strengthening clinical partnerships,
● and integrating Toothpod into both consumer wellness spaces and professional
dental environments.
I’m currently exploring collaborations with dental offices, universities, hygienists, and oral health educators who understand that innovation in preventive care is overdue. My goal is not just to introduce a product—but to lead a new movement in modern oral hygiene.
Every conversation, every bit of feedback, and every new opportunity reminds me why this work matters. Toothpod isn’t just convenient—it challenges the outdated idea that a toothbrush is the only meaningful tool for daily oral care.

DeW Life embodies what I value most about this field: the balance of science and heart. It’s meaningful to be part of a platform that celebrates stories like mine—starting a company at eighteen, researching real-world dental challenges, and launching a product designed to meet the needs of modern life.
I’m looking forward to contributing to this incredible community and learning from the women who make DeW Life so powerful.
